HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

Before I became a mother, I wasn’t naive;
I didn’t think that parenting would be a breeze.
However, I didn’t know what I was in for,
It wasn’t what I expected, but so much more.
The pain, the joy, the tears and smiles,
Sleepless nights and laundry by the piles.
Changing endless diapers, the best cuddles ever,
Making beautiful memories that will last forever.
Now that I’m a new mom, and this is still just the start,
I write this to my mom, with so much love in my heart.
Mom, you were never one I would neglect,
But now I can’t describe all the respect…
That I have for you, and for all that you’ve done,
And for all you still do, for me and everyone.
Thank you for raising me, and training me right,
For loving me unconditionally, and squeezing me tight.
Thank you for always being there,
The love of a mother is something so rare.
Doing what you can to keep me safe and from danger,
Sorry for the grey hair I gave you when I was teenager.
Always there to put band-aids on a scraped knee.
Helping me along the way to be the best I can be.
From teaching me the basics, like how to read a book,
To being kind to others; laundry, cleaning and how to cook.
You are beautiful, brave, bold and strong.
You are almost always never wrong.
You give of yourself, day after day,
But you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Now I’m learning about self sacrifice,
And praying that my efforts will suffice.
I know that children are a gift from the Lord.
Life with my baby, I know I’ll never be bored.
So thank you mom for being you,
I love you so much, you know it’s true.
I’m so thankful God chose you to be mine,
It’s all part of His wonderful family design.

Whether you’ve been a mom less than a year or over fifty,
Or you’re a spiritual mom or one soon or yet to be…
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mama’s out there!
